Sister Cooper sends her love.

Dear Seminary Students,

By now many of you have heard that Sister Cooper was diagonosed with breast cancer last week. She will be having surgery on Tuesday, June 9th. Her only request was that you pray for her. In her words, "I know the Lord hears the prayers of these valiant youth...". Please know of our great love for you. Sister Cooper would love to hear from you later this week. She will be home from the hospital on Wednesday. She is in good spirits and wanted you all to know that she is praying for you and hoping you are reading the Book of Mormon!

With SO much love,

Sister Shumate

Check out the Awesome Video Below!

We wanted to share this inspirational video clip that is being shown in Temple Visitor's Centers in Utah and Idaho. It shows scenes from the Life of Christ set to great music. We love it! Let us know what you think of it. Leave a comment below! We have been enjoying our study of the Gospels - as we begin Mark, the Gospel written for the Gentiles, we see a fast-paced story of the deeds and miracles of Jesus. This Gospel begins with his ministry and focuses on his power and ability to heal and save. One of my favorite scriptures from this morning, Mark Chapter2:16-17:

"16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?

17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. "

The Great Healer, Jesus Christ, has the power to heal in your life as well. Accept his gift, let him in.

Love,

Sister Shooper

Our New Focus Scripture!!

Sister Cooper is awesome!! She has been perusing the New Testament, in search of the perfect scripture for us to really concentrate on this year. She found it!!

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,
an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should
show forth the praises of him who hath called you
out of darkness, into his marvelous light."
1 Peter 2:9

As you are laying by the pool, sipping smoothies, just know that we are already attending classes on how to be better seminary teachers. Our new administrator is amazing. His name is Brother Shumway, and he has the coolest scriptures that I have ever seen. I will elaborate on that at a later date, as I have pictures to prove it. I hope he will bring them and speak to you in person about them. In the mean time, I know some of you are preparing for EFY next week. Have a wonderful time and enjoy the fellowship of so many people who are trying to do the same things you are. It is a nice feeling to be surrounded for a change by so many brothers and sisters. We miss you and hope you are well into the New Testament by now!
